Reflecting on a Year of Music: 12 Months, 12 Singles
As I sit down to write this blog post, I can hardly believe that the end of this month marks the release of my 12th single in 12 months. This journey has been an incredible one, filled with both triumphs and challenges. When I set this ambitious goal, it wasn't just about writing songs; it was also about taking on the majority of the work myself. Let's take a closer look at the highs and lows of this whirlwind year.
The Hurdles of the Online Music World:
Keeping up with the fast pace of the online music world was no easy task. It meant an insane amount of work, from the creative process of writing and recording with the talented Rick to having musicians like Joel and Phil contribute their magic. Beyond that, there was the world of marketing, management, promotion, and the joy of connecting with all of you. And, of course, let's not forget the cinematic adventure of shooting music videos with Teus. There were days when I questioned if these songs would ever see the light of day, but I pushed through.
Exceeding Expectations:
Despite the challenges, I'm proud to say that I surpassed even my loftiest goals for this year. When I embarked on this journey, I wasn't sure how my music would be received, or if anyone would care. Music has been my lifelong passion, and I can confidently say that I'm here to stay. Your unwavering support, from liking and commenting to joining the "It's Only Us" family, sharing my music videos, and adding songs to playlists, has shown me that there's still a hunger for authentic music. And that, my friends, makes all the hard work worthwhile.
A Year of Achievements:
As we approach the end of this year of musical success, I can't help but celebrate the milestones we've achieved together. With 175,000 views on my YouTube channel, my music video for "Take Me Back" hitting 50,000 views, and my songs streaming across the world with thousands of monthly listeners, it's been an incredible journey.
Looking Ahead:
With all of this in mind, I'm excited to announce a change in my release schedule. After my next single, "A Lot of Luck," I'll be transitioning to releasing a song every 2 months. This shift will allow me to pour more of myself into each song, dive deeper into the creative process, and connect with all of you on a more personal level.
A Note of Gratitude:
In closing, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for bringing my music into your lives and making this journey truly special. None of this would have been possible without your unwavering support. As we close the chapter on this remarkable year, I can't wait to see where the next one takes us. Thank you for being an essential part of this incredible journey. And a special thanks to my amazing wife, my daughter, Rick, Joel, Phil, and Teus for their unwavering support and contributions to my music career.
